Thomas J. Hertweck, 66, of Clay, went home to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday.

He was born and raised in Rochester and attended Bishop Kearney High School.

After graduating high school, Thomas served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in October 1972.

Thomas worked in the Post Office for about 10 years then later attended and graduated from Central Bible College and Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO. In 1986, he and his family planted Trinity Assembly of God in Liverpool, NY where he pastored for the last 30 years. In 1997, the church moved to its current location in Clay, NY.

Thomas had a great passion to see people come to know and love Jesus. He and his wife led eleven mission trips to nine different countries. He also served for a time as President for the Greater Syracuse Association of Evangelicals and the Director of the Syracuse Area Pastor’s Prayer Alliance.

Thomas was predeceased by his father, Marvin, his mother, Mary and his brother, Gerard (Rosie).

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eunhee; children: Lisa (Derek) Henderson, David (Erin) Hertweck and Joshua T. Hertweck; grandchildren: Emma, Jared, Abigail, Carter, Lilia, Caraline, and Madelaine; sisters: Ann Marie Hertweck and Mary (Kent) Hankin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 19th 3:30PM-5:30PM at Trinity Assembly of God, 4398 Rte. 31, Clay, NY 13041.

A funeral service will follow at 6PM.

Burial will be private for the family.

Contributions may be made to the Trinity Assembly of God Lamb and Lion Ministry.
