George was a tractor trailer driver for over 35 years, more recently at Black Horse Carriers. He served 4 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for 40 years. He also was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Cicero American Legion Post 787 (315) 699-0786. George also was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church where he also played the drums at Mass.
George loved gardening and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of NY Giants football, Syracuse Football and Syracuse Basketball. George was a Syracuse football season pass holder.
George was very happy to be able to meet and spend time with his grandsons, George and Julius.
He is preceded in death by Father, Kenneth S. Dapson and Mother, Phoebe Jeanne Dapson.
Surviving family includes, loving Wife of over 43 years, Kathleen Rose Dapson; Daughter, Paula Maureen Dapson; Son, Kenneth Gerald (Jessica) Dapson; Grandsons, George and Julius Dapson; Siblings, Cathleen Scott, Richard Dapson, and Kenneth Dapson.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, July 21, 2017 at New Comer Funeral Home, North Syracuse. A mass will be held, Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, NY. Private burial to follow.
