James Battaglia, 75, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Monday. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working with his hands, gardening, traveling, visiting family and cooking large dinners. James immigrated from Calabria, Italy at the age of 13 with his family. In 1976 he started Discount Shoe Repair in Syracuse which continues on today. One of his proudest days was earning his U.S. citizenship. James went onto work at Onondaga County as a maintenance supervisor and retired after 30 years of service.

James was predeceased by his mother, Marianne Battaglia, Godfather, James Caruso and his first wife, Sharon Battaglia.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (Patuna-Pisik) Battaglia; 3 children, Shari (Dave) Lang, Jim (Renee) Battaglia and John (Barbara Irwin) Battaglia; 3 grandchildren, Logan, Evy and Matthew Battaglia and step-son, Mark (Karen) Pisik.

Services were private for the family.
