Kevin Joseph Merriam, 64 years young, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday at his home. He was born in Syracuse son of the late Bernard and Lola Merriam. He was raised proudly in Baldwinsville, NY where he graduated from CW Baker H. S. Class of 1970. He also attended SUNY Potsdam briefly before entering the US Air Force. He retired from CNYDSO where he supervised group homes for the developmentally challenged for NYS CSEA. Kevin was a longtime member of Elks Lodge #31 and held many offices, and was just recently installed as a District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler in Reno, NV, for the Ontario District. Also, Kevin was awarded the Lifetime Membership as an Elk. Kevin was very active in Veterans Affairs and Youth and Scholarship programs as an Elk. He was an avid Yankees, SU and a Philadelphia Eagles Fan.

Surviving are his daughter, Jessica (Glen) Merriam of Colorado, 4 grandchildren; Kimber, Dylan, Annalise & Braydon, loving companion, Debi Baird, siblings; Darryl B. (Peggy) of N. Syracuse, David L. of Syracuse, Kathleen P. (Ray) Calkins of Plainville, Yvonne C. of Baldwinsville and Kyle J. of Syracuse; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, Aug. 5th from 11-1pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
