Alba R. Araniti, 95, of Syracuse, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday. She was born in Herkimer to the late John and Marion Salatino.

Alba moved to Syracuse in 1957 and married Carmen Araniti. She worked at Sibley’s for several years. Alba was a member of Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church in Liverpool. She enjoyed baking and cooking, especially for her family and neighbors.

Alba was predeceased by her husband, Carmen in 1971; brother, Vincent in 2009 and sister, Rose in 2015.

She is survived by two children, Sandra (Vonden) Sleight and Dominick Araniti; 3 grandchildren, Nathan and Jesse Sleight and Vincent Araniti; several nieces and nephews and dear friends, especially, Robert Aiken and Elaine Bickerstaff.

Calling hours will be Wednesday 10AM-12PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with a funeral service to follow at 12PM. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
