Michael E. Wood , 67, of North Syracuse, passed away on Friday at home with loving family by his side. Michael was born on September 21, 1950 the son of the late John and Mildred Wood. Michael served in the US Air Force and retired from GE after 38 years. Michael enjoyed fishing, gardening, the outdoors, and boating at his camp on Lake Ontario. Michael made the best pickles this side of Brooklyn. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Michael is survived by Susan, the love of his life of 42 years, his precious daughters, Melissa Wood, Stephanie (Diego) Ramos, his grandchildren, the lights of his life, Richard Paninski, Madison Hoey, Michael Hoey, sisters; Nancy Murphy, Judi Sova, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters; Carol Deary, Sharon Darrow and his brother, John, Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. Burial will take place at Belle Isle Cemetery.
