Richard (Ricky) Merle Hinton, passed on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018.

He was born in Pensacola, FL on October 31st, 1956.

He was a master carpenter and mason doing work for many people throughout East Syracuse over the years.

He was a bit of a daredevil and a fan of motorcycles. He enjoyed music and playing the harmonica. He loved his family, his dog Triumph and was a friend to everyone he met. Ricky was always the Captain of his own ship. When you hear the song , “Poncho and Lefty” by Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, look up to the sky and think of him. It was his favorite tune.

He was predeceased by his father, Robert M. Hinton Sr. and his mother, Mary Lila Francis. He is survived by his longtime companion, Patty Klingerman; Robert M. Hinton Jr.; Ronald M. Hinton; Randall M. (Lisa) Hinton; Renee M. (Shane) Corcoran; Ralaine M. Hinton; Reena M. (Rick) Rowland and many loving nieces and nephews.

He will rest eternally with his mother on the Passamaquoddy Pleasant Point Reservation in Maine. May Our Brother forever Rise with the Sun, Fly with the Eagles and Dance with the Wolves.

A memorial celebration of Ricky’s life will be held on Saturday, January 13th from 6pm-9pm at The Highland Bar and Grill in East Syracuse. Join us.
