On March 6th, a truly special man, Richard Corless, lost his battle with pneumonia; he was 83. He was such a caring, loving soul that words cannot express how much he will be missed by everyone that was fortunate to know him.
He had such love for all his family and when anyone needed help with carpentry work, electrical, plumbing or car repairs, he was right there with a smile on his face and a handful of tools. There was not much he could not fix and proved that many times over.
Richard served in the US Army from 1951 until 1958, including 4 years in Germany. He retired from Niagra Mohawk after 40 years as a Building Maintenance Supervisor.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Reuben and Dorothy (Chamberlin) Corless, Sr. and his brother, Reuben Corless, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Corless; son, Rich (Sarah) Corless; daughters, Lisa (Carmen) Corless and Kimberly (Justin) Corless; 29 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; stepchildren, John West, Deborah West, Robin (Bruce) Bedell, Tammy (David) Wiecek, David (Deborah) West, Conny (Ken) Smith, Timothy (Kyong) West, Trudy West, Joseph (Amy) West, Daniel (Ellen) West and Eric ( Anita) West.
Calling hours will be Saturday, March 10th from 4pm until 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse.
