Born in Syracuse, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Catherine (Wicks) Smith and late Patricia A Smith (Jordan) his wife.
Ted worked as a painter with Union Local 31 in Syracuse, BOCES and Self Employed Carpenter. Ted served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a former member of Eastwood American Legion and Bridgeport American Legion.
Ted was full of life and very passionate about his family and making others happy. He enjoyed camping, hunting, remodeling, singing, laughing, dancing, boxing and with a heart and smile big enough to fill any mountain.
Ted is survived by his sons; Ted Jr. (Rena) of Pennellville, Robert J. of Bridgeport and Sean (Allison) Smith of Baldwinsville. Daughters, Mary (Kevin) Mulhern of Bridgeport and Elizabeth Smith of Utica, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews: brother, George Smith: sisters, Charlene “Chickie” (Paul) Procopio, Kathy Cayen and Suzanne Lee.
Calling hours will take place at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, N. Syracuse on Monday July 2nd from 4-7pm. Funeral Service will follow at 7pm. Burial will remain private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Malta House, N. Syracuse.
