Tim Joyce, 78, passed away peacefully at James Square Nursing Home in Syracuse on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Born in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland, Tim emigrated to the United States in July 1960 to the Inwood section of Manhattan, before settling in Dumont, NJ in 1977. Tim worked as a handyman in New York City for almost 50 years before retiring. Shortly after his retirement, Tim moved to Syracuse, NY with his beloved wife of 48 years, Katherine (Kathy) Joyce.

Tim will be dearly missed by his devoted wife Kathy (nee Murphy), his daughters, Kathleen of Syracuse and Margie of Stockton, California, and grandson, Ryan. He also leaves behind his beloved brothers, Peter, Anthony, Colie, and Tommy and his sister, Nora Walsh. He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He is predeceased by his beloved twin brother, Sean, and by his brother Padraig and by his sisters, Mary, Brid, Anne, and Maggie. Tim also leaves behind a large circle of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and a wonderful circle of friends from the Irish community, his job, neighbors, and the lives and hearts he touched.

A funeral mass for Tim will take place Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Therese Church in Cresskill, NJ.

Family and friends will also gather at St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse, NY to remember Tim at a mass on Tuesday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m.

Kathy, Kathleen and Margie would like to thank the wonderful nurses, aides, and staff at James Square for their devotion, care, and love for Tim. We thank you and will appreciate you always.

Tim was a truly kind, special, most wonderful person who was loved by his family and many friends. He will be dearly missed by all.
