Charlotte Daisy Fries, 100, of Cicero, died peacefully on Wednesday in her daughter’s home, with her cat Freckles near her side.

She was the daughter of Anna and Paul Oldag of Cicero. She was born on April 26, 1915 in Buffalo, NY. She grew up in Kenmore, NY graduating from Kenmore High School. She was captain of her high school basketball team. She worked for various companies including modeling for a clothing department store, office manager at Henel’s Dairy in Kenmore, NY, bookkeeper for both a furniture store and local restaurant in Amherst, NY. She retired at age 82. She enjoyed traveling, basketball, shopping and entertaining her friends. Her favorite vacation spot was Hawaii.

She will be greatly missed by her children; Gregory Fries and his wife Mila, Bridgewater, NJ; Linda Hettig of Cicero, NY; daughter-in-law, Doreen Fries of Cicero, NY. Her grandchildren: Missy Fries, of Cicero, NY; Terence Fries and his partner Cindy of Bernhard’s Bay, NY; Nicole Krawczyk and husband Mark of Ellicott City, MD; Stacy Lawson of St. Augustine, FL; Jamie Zimmer and husband Timothy of Liverpool, NY. Her great grandchildren: Jeffrey Fries, Ryan, Peter and Aidan Krawczyk, Corey and Evan Zimmer.

She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey in 1995 and her sisters; Mabel Pressing, Genevieve Bartlett. She was previously married to Wilbert G. Fries of Buffalo, NY.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and aides at PACE of CNY who helped with her care.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday October 17, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse, with services to follow.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the CNY SPCA, 5878 E. Molloy Rd., Syracuse, NY 13211 or Humane CNY, 4915 ½ W. Taft Rd., Liverpool, NY 13088.
