She was born in Flint, Oklahoma on March 19, 1941 to the late Ernest and Cordy Edwards.
Wanita was preceded in death by her husband Louie.
She enjoyed camping and fishing. Wanita had a special devotion to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children; Dana (David) Parker, Stephen (Pam) Straughan, Debbie Straughan, Renee Straughan and Nancy Earp. Nine grandchildren; Melissa, Zachary, Jenna, Jerron, Amy, Pamela, Nicholas, Joshua and Taylor. Three great grandchildren; Genna, Levi and Everly. Brother; Tom Edwards. Sister Helen Hickman.
