Mary Jane (Wright) Kells, 58 of Cato died suddenly on April 30. Mary was born in Oswego on June 6, 1957 to the late John J. and Margaret (Davis) Wright.
She was a graduate of Oswego Catholic High School and the BOCES Cooking and Baking Program. She worked for several years as a Teacher’s Aide at St. Paul’s Academy in Oswego. She was the beloved wife of Richard Kells of Cato. They recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary.
Mary was an avid fan of car racing. She loved to attend the races at Oswego Speedway, and to keep statistics of the action there. She hasn’t missed a Classic in many years.
Mary loved needlework. She stitched beautiful Christmas stockings for every member of the family. Her sweatshirts, stitched with love for all of us, will be treasured forever.
Mary loved cats, collecting them in all sorts of forms. She will be sorely missed by her current feline “Sammy”.
Mary is survived by her husband , Richard, her mother Margaret Wright of Cicero, siblings Lisa (Hugo)Robles of Cicero, Kristie Lilienthal of Sunset, SC, William of Syracuse, Robin Young (Michael D’Avirro) of Brewerton, Alan (Jamie) of Cicero and Jennifer (Timothy) Cullen of Loudenville, as well as many nieces and nephews she dearly loved and who loved her.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 10:30AM at St. Paul’s Church in Oswego. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton.
