Ida C. Tuite, 98, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. She was born in Troy, NY to Rudolph and Laura Hiller. She was a former employee of Freihofer’s in Troy, NY and later she was a church secretary in the Syracuse area. Ida was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Troy, NY and most recently a very active member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Camillus, NY where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. She also participated in Lutheran Women’s activities. Ida was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Tuite and a sister, Ruth Fanning.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Anthony) O’Shea; her granddaughter, Erin O’Shea; a brother-in-law, Peter (Ruth) Fanning and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on October 25 at 1PM at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Camillus. Burial of ashes will be private for the family in Ballston Spa Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helping Hands of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Camillus.
