Josephine “Diddy” (Capriotti) Lombardo, 84, of Liverpool, passed away Monday.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on March 29, 1930, daughter of Salvatore and Florence Capriotti. She worked for many years at Syracuse China and Marjax Ent.
She belonged to St. John’s Golden Agers. She was a volunteer for St. Peter’s Bingo. For many years she enjoyed her bowling league.
Everyone will always remember her humor and wit and her tough-as-nails attitude. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Benjamin C. Lombardo; brothers, Joseph and Anthony Capriotti; sisters, Verna Scaffido, Diane Camardella and Julia Glavin.
Survivors include her sons, Salvatore (Kathleen), Bernard, and Joseph Lombardo; grandchildren, Chloe, Joseph Jr., Alexandra and Luciana; brothers, Louis (Janice) and Salvatore (Barbara) Capriotti; sisters, Mary (Tony) Calogero and Anna Marie Stevens; sisters-in-law, Anna and RoseMarie Capriotti; brother-in-law Cosimo Camardella and many nephews and nieces from Syracuse and Pennsylvania.
Calling hours will be 8-10:45 am on Friday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. Mass will follow at 11am at St. Rose of Lima Church, N. Syracuse. Burial at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Central New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
