On Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, surrounded by family, D. Elaine Merritt Dailey, age 85, passed away after a brief illness.
Elaine, who was predeceased by her husband Kenneth W. Merritt, will be lovingly remembered by her six children, James Merritt (Lauren) of Hobe Sound, FL, Michael Merritt (Barbara) of Brackney, PA, Martha Acquaviva of Syracuse; Peggy Mahoney of Orlando, FL, Eileen Merritt of N. Syracuse, Patricia Ziehl of Rochester and Elaine’s brother, Daniel Longenberger of Davie, FL. She will also be fondly remembered by her 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held from 5-7pm on Sunday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9am on Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church, James St., Syracuse. A graveside service will be 1:30pm on Monday at Calvary-St. Patrick Cemetery, Johnson City, NY.
Memorial donations in memory of Elaine may be made to The Children’s Tumor Foundation, 120 Wall St. 16th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
