Anne E. (Otruba) Gavurnik passed away on Wednesday. Born in Skaneateles, NY, Anne lived in Syracuse most of her adult life. She was a graduate of St. Margaret’s School of Nursing in Albany, NY and retired from Community General Hospital-Labor and Delivery after 17 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Skaneateles, NY (which her father helped to found) and joined St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Camillus, NY in later years. She was a member and Vice President of the LCA Club.

Anne was a traditional “homemaker” until returning to the workforce in 1971. She loved to sew, embroider, cook and bake. You never left her home hungry without a Care Package to take home! She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Milan M. Gavurnik; parents, Paul and Elizabeth Otruba and sister, Christine (Otruba) Stedman.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Charles) Nave; grandson, Brian C. (Andrea) Nave; great-granddaughters, Charlize Nave and Gwyneth Nave; brother-in-law, Charles E. Stedman, Sr. and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-4pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
