Memories & Condolences

Dear Larry and family,

Your mother was a truly wonderful woman. I have some very special memories of times spent with your family during high school and some years later.

Thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

~ Laurie (Beitz) Gormley - December 15, 2013

It's been over 30 years since we became friends with Larry and Wendy. So many of those early days were spent in the Frye house. Helen always welcomed us and anyone else Larry would invite over. It was there I was given my nickname of Buck, where I learned how to play quarters and developed friendships that are so special. Helen was such a kind woman to all. We will miss her and wish Larry, Wendy, Lisa & Scott all our love.

~ Snow Family - December 14, 2013

I was Helen's pastor for 9 years at Calvary UMC. She served faithfully as our treasurer, and was an integral part of the church community. We also shared our memories of Cicero HS Golden Eagles Band, and the great times that association provided. She was a great lady, and will be missed.

~ Rev. Marcia Wickert, Karen, Scott, and Kevin Wicke - December 13, 2013

Helen will be truly missed by all of us. While most people dislike going to the dentist, Helen always made us feel that she was happy to be there. She brought a smile to our faces when she came in to the office because she was always smiling. We feel very privileged to have known her and honored that she trusted us with her dental care. Larry and Wendy you are to be commended for taking such good care of Helen and accompanying her on her visits. We share in your sorrow - our deepest condolences go out to you.

~ Karen Petrie - December 10, 2013

Larry - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I remember spending many summer days at your house and your mom was always nearby. I'm sure we got on her nerves once in a while, but she was always there with a smile on her face making sure we didn't get into too much trouble. My deepest regrets.

We met Helen and her family through Boy Scouts when we moved to Syracuse in 1971. Over the years, we worked Cub Day Camp, roundtables, training sessions, and other Scout related events. She was great to work with and we truly enjoyed her friendship. Our sympathy to Larry and family.

~ Charles and Lorraine Bentley - December 9, 2013

Please accept our condolences to the Frye family in the loss of Helen. Her work as a volunteer to youth and their families within the Boy Scouts of America is testament to her character and dedication.

Helen, Ma Frye, was my other Mother growing up. Every time I made it back to Syracuse I would stop in to visit. I got married again a few years ago and had hoped to get back up there to introduce her to my wife. I will miss her very much. Had just mailed her a Christmas card to wish her the seasons greetings and had a note included to catch up with her. God Bless her .

I was a handful as a teenager so Helen used to have to keep me in line. Anytime there was any trouble, I was involved. But she still treated me like family, as did all of the Fryes. She was awesome. Great woman.
