Daniel R. Spier Jr, 96, of North Syracuse, passed away October 4, 2017.
Daniel was born in North Syracuse, New York on March 5, 1921 to the late Daniel and Helen Spier.
He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S Marine Corps. Daniel retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Rogue's Roost Golf Club in Bridgeport. He was a longtime member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, bowling, and Syracuse University sports.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his loving Wife of 62 years, Rosemary; He is survived by his Daughter, Christine A. Spier, Son, Thomas D. (Suzanne) Spier, Granddaughters, Jessica (John) Voloudakis, Rachel (Donald) Paddock, Great-Grandchildren, Sophia Rosemary Voloudakis , James Thomas Paddock, and Lucas Maxwell Paddock.
Graveside services will be private at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contribution to Alzheimer's. Association of CNY. Special thanks to the caring staff of The Cottages at Garden Grove.
