1936 - 2017

Frank Bratjan, 81, of Brewerton passed away on Monday at home surrounded by family.

He was born on January 16, 1936 son of the late Peter and Fannie Bratjan.

Frank served in the US Air Force for 22 years and retired from Kex/Ikon after 17 years. He was an avid Yankee Fan and enjoyed woodworking, especialy birdhouses. One of Frank’s passions was spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music and attending musical theatre. Frank was co-founder of Kiwanis Little League in N. Syracuse and was the Scout Master for Pack 150 in N. Syracuse. He was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima, he sang in the church choir and volunteered for funeral receptions.

Frank was predeceased by his infant daughter.

He is survived by his wife Roberta of 60 years, children; Roberta (James) Douglas, Marie Bratjan, Frank J. Bratjan, Tina Bratjan-Lewis, grandchildren, Matthew, Laura, Amanda, Megan, Frank Joseph, Tyler, Michael, Daniel, great grandchildren, Paige and Evelyn, sister, Marion (George) Fletcher, brother, Peter (Linda) Bratjan, along with nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Rose of Lima Church.

Burial will be private at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the VA Medical Center Team Blue, Dr. Langenberg, Dr. Dutch, Dr. Murthy and Karen Alcott, PA. The family would also like to thank the Albany Veterans Hospital GI Team, Hospice of CNY, for the wonderful care they received.

Donations may be made to Hospice of CNY, St. Rose of Lima, or to the charity of one’s choice.
