MJ, age 96, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on Friday at Crouse Hospital. MJ was born on August 17, 1921, to the late James and Julia Kennedy. MJ graduated from St. Vincent de Paul School in 1939 and Powelson Business Institute. MJ met her husband, Frank, in fourth grade. After WWII Frank and MJ were married at St. Vincent’s on December 29, 1945. MJ was an avid golfer, bowler, and lifelong Yankee and SU fan.
MJ was predeceased by her husband, Frank; sons, Daniel and Tom; a daughter Kathy Gibbons.
MJ is survived by her daughters, Anne (Stephen) Manzene, Sue (Mike) McArdell; a son David (Sue) Hamilton; son-in-law Ted Gibbons; a sister Nancy Pelletier; grandchildren, Billy, Jeff, Laura, Stephanie, Dan, Amanda, Kaitlyn, Brian, Eric, and Bradley; great grandchildren, Andrew, Jenna, Riley, Parker, and Carleigh.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, from 10:30am- 11:30am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 342 Vine St. Syracuse, NY 13203 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be made at Onondaga County Veteran’s Cemetery where she will join her husband Frank.
