Whitey passed away peacefully on Tuesday. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, he was a loving father and grandfather.

He retired from Greyhound Bus Lines. When he wasn’t in Florida, he could often be found at his favorite hangout Guil Foils where he also bartended for many years. He was an avid golfer, he enjoyed gambling and good food.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, Phyllis (Ogilsbie) Elioff, his son Richard Ogilsbie, godson David Ogilsbie, his parents Helen Ponichtera & Chester Krupa, brothers; Robert & Henry Krupa, sister and brother-in-law, Joanne & Tony Picciotto and his sister, Arlene Hayes.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Diana Ogilsbie (Kevin Bickom), 4 grandchildren, Marisa (Jason) Teeter, Amber Riehle, Gregory Krupa & Nathaniel Bickom, 3 great grandchildren, Paige Teeter, Wyatt Teeter and Maverick Kazek., 5 sisters, Barbara Borreggine, Karen Chatfield, Janet Mulcare, Marianne Ricker, & Kathy Leslie, his brother Joseph Ponichtera, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a strong, quiet man who loved his family deeply and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services to follow.
