Geraldine was born in Buffalo, NY on May 22, 1942 to the late Edmund and Rose (Golba) Owczarzak.
She attended Corpus Christi Grade School, Nardin Academy (Buffalo) for 1 year, graduated Bishop O’Hearn H.S. (Buffalo), attended Eire County Tech and graduated SU-University College (AAS –‘79).
Gerry enjoyed her work life at SUNY ES&F, in News & Publication as a Graphic Artist, for 34 years retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Dewitt for 31 years and St. Therese Church, Syracuse for 19 years. In her free time, Gerry enjoyed artistic projects, baking, cooking, collecting seashells on Cape Cod, collecting leaves in the fall and her travels to Italy and across the US. She also enjoyed her involvement with ‘Club Cathedral’ and playing guitar in ‘Folk Group’ in the ‘70’s. She was active in the initial startup of the local chapter of CSEA at SUNY ES&F and held office of VP pro team.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis Owczarzak and Edmund J. Owczarzak, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 wonderful years, Gene A. Trendell; sister, Mildred Krygier; brother-in-laws, Harold R. (Kay) Trendell and Herbert W. (Linda) Trendell; 16 nieces & nephews and many Great nieces & nephews.
Visitation will take place Wednesday 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at Holy Cross, Dewitt. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
