Miriam "Penny" Vosburgh

Miriam "Penny" Vosburgh went home to her Lord on March 20, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born in Great Falls, Montana and moved to the Syracuse, New York area in the 1940s. For the last three years, she has resided in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she spent many summers vacationing with her family. Miriam worked for the North Syracuse School District for over twenty years as a secretary. She was a member of the North Area YMCA where she swam every morning until age 80. She enjoyed reading, traveling, talking politics, and was an avid SU football and basketball fan. Her best times were undoubtedly those spent with her family.

Miriam was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Edwin; sisters Ruth Gerard and Elma Leigh, and brother, Scott Pennepacker.

She is survived by her sister, Esther Coombs of Whiting, New Jersey; her daughter, Margaret, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her son, Ed (Kristen) of Raleigh, North Carolina; three grandsons, Jordan James of Everett, Washington, Erik Vosburgh of Brooklyn, New York, and Adam Vosburgh of Toyko, Japan; and one great granddaughter, Avery James.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Miriam will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in Miriam's name to Meals on Wheels, North.
