Dolores Joy Heaney 84 of Longmont CO, formerly of Fayetteville, NY was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior on 6/07/18. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Richard Heaney in 2003.
Dolores was born to Helen Hance and Clifford Carey in Syracuse. Dolores loved her life as a wife and mother. She was a wonderful homemaker and held various clerical positions after the children grew up. She was an accomplished baker, a very talented seamstress making many of her family's clothes and later creating beautiful Lingerie for a boutique in Fayetteville. Dolores also enjoyed decorating her home and showed talent there as well which she passed on to her children.

She was very active in her church and spread the word of Jesus whenever she could. She was founding member and former president of Woman's Aglow Fellowship in Syracuse. She volunteered at Community Hospital after earning a certificate in Pastoral Counseling at Cazenovia College.

She loved and enjoyed her 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She lived in Fayetteville for 64 years but recently moved to Longmont, CO to be with her daughter and family.

Left to cherish her memory is Jeannette LaSala (Frank) of Berthoud, CO; Patricia Golas (John) of Savannah, GA and Daniel Heaney (Nancy) of Chittenango and Florida.

Services in Longmont, Colorado will be 10;30am on Thursday, June 14th at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, 1421 Elmhurst Ave., Longmont, CO 80503. Following cremation, the family will inurn Dolores Joy's ashes after a private family graveside service in Chittenango, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Hope Family Services, 3519 James Street, Syracuse, NY 13206.
