Loretta Schilling, 92, of Baldwinsville, passed away on September 2, 2018. Living in the Syracuse area most of her life, she and her husband, were breeders of Shetland Sheepdogs, they owned and operated Shawn-Dee Shelties Kennels in Baldwinsville for many years. She was an active member of the Syracuse Obedience Training Club, and she bred, raised and showed her Shelties in many shows and agility competitions all over the east coast. She was also a member of the Onondaga Kennel Association and Baldwinsville Moose Club.
Loretta’s Shelties were her passion. From Bubba to Buzzie she raised many award-winning dogs, and many families in the Syracuse area have benefited from her breeding skills and training expertise.
She is predeceased by her parents, George and Louella Covey; husband, Paul D. Schilling; son, Robert G. Schilling.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn of Baldwinsville; granddaughter, Nicole D. Ungleich; two great grandsons, Logan Ungleich and Kyler Schilling.
A graveside service will take place Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1 PM in North Syracuse Cemetery.
