James A. Nitzke, 74, of Central Square, NY, passed away in Zephrhills, FL on August 30, 2018.

He was born in Syracuse, NY on May 25,1944 to Ruth D., and Arthur T. Nitzke.

Jim retired from Vantage Equipment in 2011 as a forklift mechanic for over 40 years. He also was President of the Maple Bay Rod and Gun Club for over 35 years. Jim loved Nascar racing and various sports. He loved his 1964 Purple Plymouth Barracuda.

Surviving are his loving wife, Susanne Burdo Nitzke, of 36 years, sons; Michael (Amy) and Richard (Stacey). 3 Grandchildren; Michael Zepp, and Paige and Alaina Nitzke, brother; Richard Phillips, and a nephew, Thomas Nitzke (Stephanie), along with other nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 11-2, Saturday, September 15th, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. Services will follow.
