Dorothy was born in Pennsylvania on September 27, 1928 the daughter of the late Mylan and Mabel Gates.
Dorothy and her husband John were owners of Carvel Ice Cream Store in East Syracuse. Nonny enjoyed painting, arts & crafts and playing the organ. Most of all she loved spending time with her grand kids.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Terri J. Tyson, Linda (Robert) Bagley; grandchildren, David Tyson II, Kelsey (Jason) Wilk, Matthew Tyson, Patty Michalski, Paul (Jennifer) Bagley; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Gates, along with nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse, with services at 12pm. Burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations my be made to American Cancer Society.
