Stella Vivian Pedersen Oydgard McCabe
1945 - 2018

Stella Vivian Pedersen Oydgard McCabe, 73, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 4, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Trygve and Randi (Eikeland) Oydgard.

Stella was the consummate professional educator and had graduated with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Education Administration from the State University of New York at Oswego, New York. She loved all her previous teaching experiences but was especially proud of her work as Principal of The Alternative High School in Cape Vincent, New York.

She loved her family first; her other great loves were animals big and small and had adopted many strays. She also loved camping and sailing and was capable and adventurous enough to sail by herself.

She is survived by her husband Charles, her brother Trygve Gerald (Jerry) Oydgard, her daughters Karen Gerbi and Virginia Oltmann, her step daughter Kirsten Barnum and three grandchildren.

Always giving and caring for others, she donated her remains to the Anatomical Research Program at The State University of New York in Syracuse, New York.

Donations may be sent to the United Friends of Homeless Animals, 432 Centerville Rd, Richland, NY 13144
