In Memory Of
Geralyn "Geri" Laxton
1953 - 2019

Geralyn "Geri" (Mingolelli) Laxton, 65, passed away on January 9th, 2019, after a brave battle against breast cancer. Though she was surrounded by family and friends alike in the hours before, Geri waited until the wee hours to joyfully cross, when we had gone home.

In the days prior to her death, she had joked that she would prefer to do so while indisposed, so that we could write that she died how she lived: as a Queen on her throne.

Due to complications that forced bed rest instead, we surmise that Geri waited patiently for us to need bed and a shower, before meeting her Savior on her own terms. Such was the humor of our beloved mom, grandma, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend.

A 1971 graduate of Liverpool HS, Geri worked as an insurance claims adjuster and paralegal for Nationwide and the Hartford Co., before retiring to become the best mother and "Nini" a child could wish upon a star for.

She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Terrance, as well as her mother Florence (Grecco) and father Carmen.

Surviving to carry her love into the future are her children, by both blood and heart - Terrance, Courtenay (Joseph Manzare), Courtney "Pixie" (Micki) Galloway, grandchildren - Karol and Mychael, as well as siblings - Gary (Mary Lu,), Carmen (Marco Herrera), Anne, Christina, Tania (Mark Farrow), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial wake will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, January 19th at 122 Rugby Road, Syracuse.

Please come to share food, your best memories of Geri, laughter, and joy.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Geri's honor to Upstate Cancer Center, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse.

Oh... and get your mammograms!
