Marjorie S. Adams, 93, of Brownville, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 30th. She was born in Jersey City, NJ to the late Ida and William Schmidt. Marjorie graduated from Jersey City Teacher’s College.

A lifelong educator, Marjorie was a kindergarten teacher, a principal, and after retirement, a Superintendent of the Brownville United Methodist Sunday School. Marjorie was deeply involved in the Miss New York State Scholarship Pageant Organization, serving as Miss New York’s Business Manager for many years. Marjorie was perhaps known best for her kindness, generosity, and hospitality – welcoming anyone and everyone to her home, and offering treats from her famous “Little Debbie bowl”.

Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, George and her daughter, Susan Kirkegaard.

She is survived by her grandson, Chris (Jenny) Kirkegaard and two great-grandchildren, Rex and Ainsley.

A celebration of life will be held at the Brownville United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 18th at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Brownville United Methodist Church Christian Education Fund.
