Dick was a local North Syracuse baseball star receiving many trophies and awards for his baseball talent. He loved the game and was an avid NY Yankees fan throughout his entire life, with Mickey Mantle being his most admired player. Dick was a very hard worker who loved his family, he was always able to make others laugh with his jokes or funny faces.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Joanne Pike; his grandson, Joshua Mathes; his siblings, William, Donald, Daniel, Rosemary, and Doris “Bootsy” Casselmon.
Surviving are his daughters, Lindsay (Kenny) Mathes and Michelle (Doug) Obrist; grandchildren, Amanda (Thomas), Christopher, Sara, and Jacob; great-grandson, Nolan; sister, Rita Westfall, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a service immediately following.
