1932 - 2019

Robert “Bob” D. Aumell, 87 of Cicero, passed away peacefully at Iroquois Nursing Home on October 1, 2019.

Born on January 24, 1932 in Monklands, Ontario, Canada, to the late James and Emma Aumell. His family later settled in Ogdensburg, NY where he spent his childhood and graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy. He also attended RPI, Troy, NY.

Bob served in the Air Force during the Korean War, where he received training in meteorology, later becoming a career meteorologist with the National Weather Service for 33 years.

He enjoyed a love of cars, and later worked for Tri-State Auto Auction.

Bob was a hard-working man of many talents, including art, music and model airplanes; he was also mechanically inclined.

Bob was predeceased by the love of his life, Suzanne, and brother, James Jr.

He is survived by his children, Diane (Patrick) Goodwin, David (Lynne) Aumell and Jeffrey (Melissa) Aumell; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Calling hours will take place at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main Street, North Syracuse, on Sunday, October 6th from 4-7pm. Services will follow at 7pm.

A funeral mass will be Monday October 7 at 9:30 am at St. Agatha's, 329 North Peterboro St. Canastota, New York, 13032.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Iroquois Nursing Home and Hospice of CNY.
