Samuel J. Grosvenor
1951 - 2020

On Monday, January 27, 2020, Samuel J Grosvenor, of Chittenango NY, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born in Syracuse, NY on November 7, 1951. He was 68 years old.

Samuel was very talented, and proud of his accomplishments as a mason, carpenter, stair builder and luthier. His reputation allowed him to be sought after by many. After being a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman for many years, he was employed by the Church of the Assumption, in Syracuse, NY, where he retired from in 2014.

Before retiring he started Franciscan Hand Crafted Acoustic Guitars. After retiring, he renamed it Grosvenor Custom Guitars, and sold them across the United States.

Samuel had a passion for antiques, music, singing and building guitars.

Samuel was predeceased by his father, John Daniel Grosvenor, Syracuse NY, and his mother, Orpha E. Kirker Grosvenor of Syracuse, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, of Chittenango NY; one brother, Willard, and his wife, Patricia, of Texas; one sister, Susan Burns, and her husband, Douglas, of Fayetteville, NY; his step children, son, Joseph W. Van Hoose of Chittenango, NY and daughter, Kaitlyn E. Van Hoose of Chittenango, NY, along with many friends and family.
