1955 - 2020

Melvin E Youker, 64, of Brighton Ave., Syracuse, NY, passed away at home on Thursday, April 17, 2020 after a long fight with cancer.

Mel was born on July 13, 1955 and was predeceased by his parents, Melvin J. Youker & Laura Gocklin Youker of Liverpool, NY. Mel was also predeceased by his beloved son, Nicholas Knowles, of Albany, NY.

Mel is survived by his brother, Darrell Youker of Bernhards Bay NY; two sisters, Laurie Cole of Central Square, NY, and Cheryl Youker of Bernhards Bay, NY; an Uncle, Gene Wells; Nicholas’ mother, Shelly Knowles; and several cousins and friends.

Mel was a long time resident of the Syracuse, NY area. He worked hard as a contractor. He loved nature and enjoyed buying and selling cars, antiques and collectables. He lived modestly and had a kind soul.

Mel graduated from Rincon High School in Tucson AZ.

As a child, he was an accomplished baseball player and won First Place in a NYS Accordion Competition.
