1932 - 2020

Dorothy C. “Dot” Merrill, 87, passed away on Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital followed by a brief illness.

Dorothy was born on June 22, 1932 the daughter of the late John and Amanda Schwartz. In her early years, Dorothy and her husband were members of the North Syracuse Rod & Gun Club. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and spending time with family especially with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Lynn Ann Fields, Virginia Jacob, Bryan (Kelly) Merrill, Patricia (Ron) Stuart, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brother, John (Pat) Schwartz, 2 sisters, Marlene (Ed) Kuryla, Diane (Bryan) Hopkins, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Charles and a sister, Gertrude.

Visitation will be held on Thursday Aug. 27th from 3-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services at 6pm at the
funeral home.
