MaryLou Duffy
1933 - 2020

MaryLou (Maroney) Duffy, 86, of Cicero, was called to heaven on May 21, 2020 after fighting a long battle with cancer.

She was born June 3, 1933 to William and Doris Maroney and spent most of her life in Central New York. She graduated from Syracuse Central Tech High School in 1952 and the Beaux Art School of Beauty. She spent many years as a hairdresser and then became an Alcohol Counselor at Syracuse Brick House Rehabilitation Center. She was a proud member and friend of Bill W with 40 years of sobriety. Mickey acted as a mentor and friend to many in her community. Her family was her whole life.

She spent many years enjoying Sandy Pond with her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and watching the Cardinals from her window. Mickey was a big SU basketball and LeBron James fan.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, John P. Duffy, a brother and sister, James Maroney and Patricia (Maroney) Havill.

She is survived by her daughters, Lauren (Martin) Sliva of Pulaski, Suzanne McCarthy (Daniel Mincey) of Cicero, Jack (Patricia Finocchiaro) Duffy of Liverpool, sister-in-law Connie Maroney, grandchildren, Michael Commisso, Alison Williams, Nicholas Sliva, Hollie Storrier, Sheyanne McCarthy, several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mickey was the center of the family and words cannot express how much she will be missed. Our hearts are broken but we know she is now at peace.

Since public services are not allowed at this time, a celebration of her life will be held when the world permits.

Contributions in her name may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Road, Cicero NY 13039 or Central NY Food Bank, 7066 Interstate Island Road, Syracuse NY 13209.
