Jason A. Smith
1973 - 2020

Jason A. Smith, 47, of Liverpool, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at home, after battling Esophageal Cancer for 2 ½ years. He is the son of late Everett and Geraldine Smith.

He graduated from George W. Fowler Senior High in 1993. He worked at Price Chopper for 13 ½ years and held different positions there until his cancer made it too difficult for him to work for the last year.

Jason is survived by his wife of 16 ½ years, Lisa M. Smith; a daughter, Kaitlyn M. Smith; two step children, Melissa A. Aldrich and Anthony J. Aldrich; two brothers, Earl (Jane) and Timothy; and a sister, Glory (Osama). He has several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jason and Lisa were high school sweethearts at George W. Fowler Senior High, were reunited after 9 years and married on August 30, 2003. They would have celebrated 17 years of marriage.

Jason enjoyed watching basketball, baseball, football and NASCAR in his spare time. He also liked going to the Monster Jam Trucks at the Syracuse Dome, Chief's Baseball games, Syracuse Nationals, and attending the NYS Fair with his family.

He also loved his pets; 2 cats (Jax & Bella) and 1 dog (Papa Bear).

The family wanted to thank Hematology and Oncology Associates at Brittonfield in East Syracuse for all the care they provided during Jason's illness.

Donations may be made to his daughter, Kaitlyn M. Smith.
