Ruth E. Wood, 95, of Cicero, passed away Sunday, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Ruth was born on October 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Cecile Jordan and Naomi Woodhouse. Ruth graduated from Girls High in Boston, MA, which was one of the first high schools for girls in the United States. She moved from Elizabeth City, NC to Boston when she was 10 years old. She worked several years for the State of Massachusetts Unemployment Office. She retired from the City of Boston Public Health as an Office Manager. Ruth was an avid bingo fan and enjoyed spending time with her friends at bingo and family.
Ruth is survived by her grandchildren, Keith Wood, Courtney Wood, Gerad Hall, Bylee Woodhall; nephew, Rodney Thornley; niece, Sheila Thornley; nephew, Phillip Thornley; along with many other great grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews.
There will be no services or calling hours.
