Stephen Mahana
1964 - 2020

Stephen Mahana, 55, tragically passed away Sunday evening while on a motorcycle ride through the Tug Hill and Adirondack region.

Born in Utica, he lived most of his life in the Syracuse area. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from LeMoyne College. He worked throughout his life in the environmental services industry, most recently as a Senior Project Engineer at Abscope Environmental, Inc., in Canastota.

He enjoyed being outdoors and loved spending his weekends at his camp in Osceola where he would ride his motorcycles, four wheelers, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles. He had a passion for adventure and always lived his life to the fullest, right until the very end. He was an amazing father to his two children, and a wonderful friend to many.

He is predeceased by his mother, Mary Ann Mahana (Arcuri). He is survived by his father, George Mahana of Brewerton; his sister, Beth Stevenson of Asheville, NC; and his daughter and son, Emily and Eddie Mahana, both from Clay.

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 29th from 4pm to 7pm at New Comer Funeral Home in North Syracuse. A private ceremony will be held in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his daughter and son to help cover costs of the services.
