1932 - 2020
James “Jim” Helmer Franson, 87, formerly of Cranston, RI and most recently of Cicero, passed away on Tuesday in the presence of family.
Jim, he had many interests, most notably photography, music, playing guitar, learning anything new and was a black belt in Kempo Karate. He was a quiet man who had a keen wit and dry humor which no one enjoyed more than he did! A friend once noted that “Jim doesn’t say funny things, he says things funny!” James was a proud Air Force Veteran of the Korean War era.
Jim was a very proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed being with his family and who was always ready to offer words of encouragement.
James was predeceased by his wife, Joyce of 56 years. He is survived by two daughters, Lucinda (John) Hazen and Sandra (Eric) Amberg; seven grandchildren; Patrick (Amanda), Ryan (Shannon), Steven (Whittney), Jeremy, Joelle, Heather and Neal and nine great-grandchildren, Logan, Makenzie, Charlotte, Taylor, Kolten, Jackson, Ridge, Remington and Emree.
