My condolences to Chet's family and friends. Chet was a man's man. Someone that was always happy to see you. He seemingly smiled through his many many years of Ill-health and uncountable operations. Chet made it a habit of calling his male friends "pecker-head" to the the point of them considering it a badge of respect. You would feel it odd if he called you by your name. No question that Chet will be missed by all that had the privaliege of knowing him. Rest In Peace Chet.

We met Chet nearly 40 years ago through Cicero Falcons. First as a parent, next as a Cicero Falcon Board of Director, as well as Chet managing the Concession Stand successfully for the Falcons for a number of years. Chet was also our Daughters softball coach as well.
We maintained a wonderful friendship with Chet and his wife Sharon over the years. For four years Chet was my wife's (Sharon) partner in a Pitch League at Borio's in Cicero. We enjoyed Chet over the years and his friendship will certainly be missed.
Good Bye my good friend.

Our softball community lost a wonderful man. He always knew how to make me smile even when things got tough on the field. As we got older I always enjoyed catching up with him when we ran into one another at the store. He would always say “Hi Granteed” with that infectious smile. Remember him forever. ??

I thought of Chet as one of the best people I ever had the privilege of calling my friend.
The memories of interactions, coaching sessions, and games we had with the girls from the softball teams we coached will be with me forever. We had so many good times...and laughs. I had my dumb blond jokes, made even funnier when I told them everyone in my family was blond. But parents thught of me as a hardliner (....some parents at first "may" have called me a jerk), but Chet was the peacemaker. He always had such a nice way about him, and a ton of patience.
I treasure those years...I will never forget them! I hope he felt the same way! I believe he did as we laughed about things every time we connected ver the years.
God bless him really good in heaven. If there is softball in heaven, I am sure he is involved! RIP, Chet. And God bless his family as they learn to cope without him. He is at peace looking down on the softball world that he contributed so much to, and on the people whose lives he affected so much.

Chet was the best! I played golf with Chet for some forty years, always a laugh and a smile. He was fun to be with even if he was having a bad day.
Girl's soft ball was his passion in sports I think he went to as many of my daughter's games in high school & college as I did.
Chet I will miss you, love you man!

Knew Chet from gym for a few years but it seems like for all my life will miss him and his stories
~ James Sgroi - July 30, 2020
Chet was universally respected. Every player, every parent, opposing coaches and players, umpires, everyone he came into contact with liked him. I know of no exception. Always around the fields, when you walked around a softball complex with him you were struck by the number of people he knew (going to the concession stand with Chet took forever). His smiles, good cheer and quiet demeanor will be greatly missed in the CNY softball community. At ease, old friend.

I was blessed to have met Chet and his family playing Cicero Little League as a child. He was my high school softball coach, and in the years to follow we would cross paths at Pop Warner football games and in recent years, we would spend time together at the softball fields watching my daughters play ball. He would always greet me with his contagious smile and would always call me by my high school nickname. Chet was genuine, funny and kind. I looked forward to seeing him every summer to catch up, and I’m so grateful for all the talks we had and all the reminiscing we would do together. Chet, you are one in a million! My deepest sympathy to his family, extended family, and all of his loved ones. Rest in Peace, Chet. You will be greatly missed and you were loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to know you.

Chets unique accounting system, when he ran the Cicero Falcons Pop Warner Football Concession, In his left sock he kept the 20's and in his right sock, he kept the 10's.
Thank you Chet for all your positivity over the years. We will miss you.

We always found time to talk softball either after a game that I watched with you or when I came off the field as an umpire.
After a game at West Genny ,when I was a young official you approached me and said "Frankie can I talk to you ?"
He told me I had "rabbit ears"...he went on to say.."make your life easier as an umpire and stop giving any unruly comments from a fan your attention."
I never forgot that day ....I reminded Chet of the day the last time I say him .
My condolences to your family,
You will be missed but never forgotten.

My dear friend, Chet....I will miss you and your outrageous sense of humor, and your determination to live life to its fullest. May you rest in the peace you so richly deserve. Hopefully you will watch over all your gym buddies, and put in a good word for each of us to the big guy...Try to behave.

I knew Chet from Golds gym for many years. He was a great and caring guy. My condolences to all of his family
~ Frank Antonucci - July 28, 2020
I was Chet’s nurse in cardiac rehab and then continued our friendship when he resumed his exercise at Gold’s Gym, later Elevate Fitness. Chet could start a lifelong friendship riding up one floor in an elevator! His constant smile and gentle humor will be sorely missed. RIP, Chet; I’ll bet you’ll fit right in up in Heaven.

It says so much about someone's character and moral compass with this gentleman impacting so many lives. Everyone who either spent time with Chet, called him a friend, called him Coach, called him a colleague knew he was genuine. He made my life as a player and a Coach more enriched by his very presence. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making so many you've touched in your life simply a better person. May you rest in Gods arms and know will look for you when I see the beauty of life. Love you Chet? Crissy

I will miss seeing and chatting with you and Cary at the ball parks and also the volleyball games! You always had a moment to talk to me and share your thoughts on the game I had officiated, teams and general conversation.
I will miss you.
To his family, I'm sorry for your loss. He will missed by many.

I played softball for Baldwinsville, but was always around Chet. I eventually had the opportunity to play for him with Homerun Softball, and that was the best season of my career. Chet made the game THAT much more enjoyable. I remember our trip to Houston, Texas and every time we went somewhere I HAD to be in Chet’s van. There was one song that kept coming on the radio, “flying like a G6,” and every time it came on he would go, “are they saying ‘mac and cheese sticks?!’” I’m going to miss you, Chet. I’ll miss your random messages asking how I’m doing and if I’m staying out of trouble. I’ll miss seeing you at the ball fields and harassing you every chance I got. Your smile and your presence will never fade. I love you!
