Marlin was born in White Plains, New York on February 18, 1945 to the late Marvin and Marion Kisselstein.
Marlin retired from Chase Bank after 34 years.
Mar was an avid runner having run every day from 1980 – 1990. He ran in 25 marathons and locally ran the Mountain Goat and Heart Run.
Mar was very active with the American Heart Association, serving as Regional President; he volunteered in the Heart Run and organized the golf tournament.
He enjoyed working within the community as well with Geneva Hayden, the GJSBA, Weed and Seed and many others receiving many awards including JP Morgan Chase’s award for community support.
When it came to vacation, Mar and his family went to Maine for 40+ years spending time in Oqunquit and Acadia. Their 10th wedding anniversary was spent in a lighthouse island off the coast of Maine. Karen and Mar visited Iceland in 2001 and went on Windjammer cruise in 2012.
He is survived by his loving Wife of 30 years, Karen Kisselstein; Daughter, Lee Gabriel; Grandsons, Phoenix Gabriel, Griffin Gabriel; Brother, Marvin (Cindy) Kisselstein; Nephews, Rick (Maura), Michael (Karen), Ben (Sarah) Kisselstein and Niece, Kim Kisselstein.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, N. Syracuse. There will be a celebration of life in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank of CNY.
Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
