1935 - 2020

John M. Schubarg of Liverpool, N.Y. died on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the age of 85. Known as “Jack” in his earlier years, he was born and raised in Dunkirk, N.Y., son to the late Raymond J. Schubarg and Elizabeth A. Rosmus, and brother to Jean Valvo.

He is survived by his wife, Linda F. Schubarg (Cowburn), his three children, Bill Schubarg, Donna (Jason) Aulds and Jim Schubarg; two stepchildren, Kimberly (Jay) Bethel and Tamara Loveless; along with, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.

John retired after 42 years as an Engineer at Syracuse AT&T, leading the company’s fast-pitch softball team as pitcher for three decades. John’s passions were boating and spending time with Linda on the St. Lawrence River, and playing and repairing organs. John also enjoyed working on cars, boats and watching the Yankees, and was an avid hunter in his earlier years.

A mass will be said in his honor on Thursday, December 17th 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Cicero, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Sacred Heart Church’s Anna’s Pantry, the Salvation Army or the Rescue Mission.
