He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his father, Joseph; his mother, Ruth, and his brother, Kenny.
Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone.
Dennis is survived by his three sisters, Arlene Schlueter, Carol Walker, and Elaine (Ralph) Negrotto of Syracuse, NY; his beloved sons, Jon (Elaine) Rezzonico and Michael Derr of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by his three grandchildren; as well as, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis was born in Syracuse, NY to Joseph and Ruth Derr on October 11, 1947. He graduated from North Syracuse High School and worked at Sears after graduating high school. Dennis went on to become a foreman at Edgcomb Metals in Liverpool, NY and later worked at Rite Aid until retirement. Dennis was always happiest working in his yard and garden. He enjoyed traveling and showing horses with his wife, Linda and sons over the years. He was known for his quick wit and being a prankster to his sisters.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours which will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212, on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 10am - 12 pm, with a service for immediate family to follow. Due to COVID restrictions, only 25 people are allowed during the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: The ASPCA or, the American Heart Association.
