1935 - 2021

Joseph Alwardt born January 28, 1935 passed away suddenly on February 12, 2021.

He graduated from Edison Technical School in Rochester, NY. Joseph retired from Eastman-Kodak in 1991 after over 25 years. He was a member of Independence United Methodist Church in Emporia, VA and former member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Holley, NY. He loved doing mechanical things with his hands including working on cars and lawnmowers but his passion was working on his model train set. Joseph also enjoyed traveling with his wife and his cat. He was a devoted husband and a great father.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Patricia (Dutton) Alwardt; children, Christopher (Marie) Alwardt, Juliana (Jason) King and Stephen (Betty) Alwardt; step-children, Robert (Qiong) Rinas and Suzanne (Joshua) Leone; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ralph (Jennifer) Alwardt, JoAnn Alwardt and Robert (Georgia) Neal and nieces, nephews and cousins.
