Dear Kay and family,
I am sorry to hear of Erin's untimely death. Although I didn't see her often, I always got a big hug and smile. Our district was ever so lucky to her on the school board and her insights will be missed by the staff- and most especially the students. I will keep you all in my prayers. May God bless and keep you and comfort you in your loss.

Erin was one of the most amazing educators I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She was able to see in to the eyes and minds of students beyond what they displayed on the outside. She could see their struggles and built relationships that fostered not only learning but healing that led to both academic and personal success. I found her to be an inspiration even to a veteran educator like myself. The world is a better place because Erin McDonald was here!!!

To Erin’s family,
I had the pleasure of connecting with Erin on the soccer field, both as competitor and ref partner. I went to North Syracuse and was in awe of Erin as an athlete when we played against Cicero. Years later at Irish Road bowling she convinced me to become a ref. Luckily our good friend Scott paired me with Erin for most of our games. Erin was witty, passionate and very committed to the athletes and students. Her involvement with the school board and community did not surprise me in the least. She often talked of her family and friendships near and far. I would occasionally run into her and it was as if no time went by since I saw her last. Such a beautiful person I was blessed to know. Prays to her family and friends at this devastating loss. Rest In Peace my friend...

Kay and Family,
I am truly saddened by the news of Erin's passing and shocked that she is gone. I'm so glad that we rekindled our friendship when she moved back to Central New York and had the chance to catch up on so many things. I will miss our conversations and debates. I know how much she loved her family and I hope that will help you through the days ahead. Please know that you are all in my thoughts. Erin will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

This truly makes my heart sad. Erin and I both started working at PHS the same year in Special Education. Fly high with the angles... She will be dearly missed by so many. Thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.

Kay and family,
Erin is now at peace with her dad in heaven. She will be remembered for always helping others no matter the circumstance. She deeply cared about her students especially the ones that needed her guidance and support. She followed in her father’s footsteps as a social studies teacher and a Board of Education member. Kay, she loved you so very much . We would speak about you and how you were doing every time we met. Erin also enjoyed officiating soccer games. She would not only officiate but give pointers to players to make them even better. I have lost a friend and fellow educator. God Bless Erin!

And spent time with her family ...,
We talked about all kinds of fun stuff with everybody it was so kind. I just can’t believe that she’s no longer here. I’m so sad and so sorry to the family
That’s just terrible and not fair. I am so sorry and so is Kathy.

Erin joined us at Henninger High, last year, to complete the 3 person resource team. It speaks to her great nature/personality that she slid right in and fit so well. She was a listener and a sharer. She enjoyed a good laugh too. It was only a shortened school year, plus a few months, but her great personality made her one of the go to people for me. I am sure she had more experience than I, in our shared field but never acted like it. She would ask for help on things and accepted advice and guidance so easily. I could tell family and friends meant the world to her. My prayers to her family and friends. She will be missed!

To the family of Erin,
I am in total shock to hear the passing of Erin. We went to high school together and played sports as well. Her dad was my favorite teacher in middle school. Cherish the memories that you all have. Gone way to young. RIP Erin...
