In Memory Of
Bart Joseph Simmons II
1974 - 2021

On Sunday, March 14, 2021, Bart Joseph Simmons II, loving husband and father of 2 children, passed away at age 47.

Bart was born on February 22, 1974 in Syracuse, NY to Bart Sr. and Nancie. He graduated from Cicero North Syracuse High School.

On November 13, 1997, he married his soulmate, Amy, whom he loved very much.

They raised two daughters, Caitlyn and Kaylie. Bart was a great dad, and his daughters say their best memories were times with their dad. They spent time going to different beaches and parks, and sometimes to the movie theater.

Bart had a special place in his heart for all animals. He is survived by 2 cats, a dog, and 3 ferrets that he loved very much.

Music made Bart very happy, and he always had a favorite song. He had a habit of whistling songs while doing tasks, or sometimes he’d whistle and ask you to guess which song. One of the things he looked forward to was listening to his favorite songs together with his family to end the night.

During his downtime, he loved to play poker, chess, and cards with his friends. Bart loved NFL, and his favorite team was the Eagles. He never missed a game! The Superbowl was always one of his favorite days of the year.

Bart was able to be in a career that he truly loved, and one that he excelled at as well. He had a real passion for the culinary arts and the restaurant/food industry, with the skills to bring to both. As a chef Bart always thrived to bring the best quality of ingredients to the plate with a enjoyable work place environment. He always made work a place of fun, and not so much of a job. He was a team player, and he always maintained a healthy work environment for his employees. Bart had 20+ years of experience in the restaurant industry in the capacity of Executive Chef, Culinary Specialist/Advisor, Banquet Coordinator, Line Chef and high end line cooking, all with an emphasis on fine dining. Bart made amazing dishes that you can view on his Facebook page.

He was known for his quick wit, his amazing food, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Bart is predeceased by his father, Bart Sr., and his mother, Nancie.

He is survived by his wife, Amy, of 23 years; his 2 children, Caitlyn and Kaylie; his siblings, Christine, Alexia, and Aaron.

Calling hours for Bart will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 10am - 12pm. A service will follow at 12pm. Burial will be in Pine Plans Cemetery, Clay, New York.
