John A. Sadler, 91, of North Syracuse, passed away at home on Thursday, March 18, 2021, surrounded by family.

Born in England and served in WWII, he traveled to America in the early 1950s, where he met and married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Lila" McShane. They were married in 1955 and gained US citizenship in 1957. He was employed by Lamson, then later Young & Franklin from where he retired. He enjoyed golfing whenever he could.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth; parents, Arthur and Lilian; and his sister Barbara VanAntwerp.

He is survived by his nieces, Sandra (Robert) Miksche, Elizabeth (James) Christopher, Kathleen Pollard, Doreen (Timothy) Ryan, Lisa (Paul) Cayea, and Amanda (Matthew) Haldaman; nephews, Robert (Christine) Longo and Sam Longo.

He has several cousins, great nieces and nephews throughout the United States, England, and Ireland.

The family wishes to thank his caregiver, Mary Jane, for all of her assistance during the last year. Calling hours will be held on April 20th, 2021 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, NY from 10-12pm, with a burial in Hillside Cemetery in Central Square to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or Meals on Wheels.
