Auriol R. Doherty, 80, of North Syracuse passed away on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Auriol was born in Ruthin, Wales on June 26, 1940 daughter of the late Reginald and Mair Monkhouse. While raising 3 childern she was very involved with her community. She helped establish both the Smith Road PTO and North Syracuse Dollars for Scholars. In her later years she was part of Friends of North Syracuse Library. She also helped support Vera House, Clear Path for Veterans and WCNY Read Out by wrapping gifts. She was first in line to volunteer for WCNY Auctions.

When in Arkansas, she organized Quilt Guild luncheons and belonged to Patchwork assisting her Arkansas family.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Doherty, John Doherty, David Doherty and granddaughter, Heather Doherty.

At the request of the family, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to NOPL North Syracuse, WCNY or NAVAC.
